Nailsea Tithe Barn
Nearly twenty years ago, George worked on the restoration of The Tithe Barn following the threat of demolition, transforming it into a venue for community events and Town Council offices. This complex project involved repair of the 1470s barn from its dilapidated state, recovering its original spaces and character, alongside the construction of a new services extension to provide appropriate and practical facilities for the town.
Currently, the success and viability of the project are clearly demonstrated by the building’s busy and sustained use. This is a credit to those who had the original vision for the project, together with its supporters, including the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Since the restoration project completed, the building has naturally experienced some deterioration. Corbel has therefore undertaken a Condition Report to assess its current condition and identify the necessary maintenance and repair works to ensure its continued use and longevity.
